The Airship America Blimp is suitable for children 8 years of age and older. No previous R/C experience is necessary. The 4 ft size is ideal for use at home, the office, at birthdays and at school for science projects in the classroom or gymnasium. The scale appearance gondola looks like the full size passenger airships. This mini blimp has a hand-held transmitter with 2 control sticks that direct the blimp. The motors and propellers on the left and right of the gondola move the blimp forward/backward and right/left. The third motor and propeller beneath the gondola move the blimp up/down.

The blimp bag is traditional mylar party balloon with a filler valve. The blimp bag and gondola are shipped completely assembled and ready-to-fly. The blimp requires a 3-volt lithium battery which will provide over an hour of flying time or longer, depending on how fast you fly. The radio transmitter requires a 9-volt transistor battery which will provide many hours of fun. The blimp is designed to be a toy, but it can carry paper signs for making announcements or other personal messages such as at birthday parties or other social gathering. Signs are simply a 8.5" x 11" hand drawn paper sign, a computer generated sign, or color photocopy taped onto both sides of the blimp bag. Just fill the bag with helium, stick on the fins and gondola, add batteries and ballast and go. Helium and batteries are not included.

The blimp is ready-to-fly with only a few minutes of assembly time. It uses on/off tractor style steering. It does not have proportional control.

Helium is available in the form of a "Party Balloon Canister" which can be purchased at K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Target, SAMS, PriceCostco, or similar discount store. You will need approximately 4 cubic ft of helium for the first fill.

U.S.S. ENTERPRISE

The U.S.S. Enterprise balloon measures approximately 4 feet long. It is a very close replica of the actual Star Ship.

Tethered only -- there is not enough lift available to support any additional payload.
